It's All About The Food

With some of the richest soils anywhere in New York, Schoharie County's farms produce everything from asparagus to zucchini!

Breakfast at Sap Bush Hollow Café can start your day with flavor and fun and is in the small hamlet of West Fulton south of Middleburgh off Route 30.   This Café rocks with eclectic owners and food and crafts - all from their nearby farm.  Load up for an energetic day in Schoharie County.

One of the most bustling spots in Schoharie County is the farm stand at Barber’s Farm.  Seasonal fruits and vegetables from this magnificent valley shine in the morning sun.  Leave room on your schedule for family photos as well as a taste of their famous 1857 Vodka! Happiness for everyone!

Grab a snack or lunch to go at the aptly named Under the Nose to get you ready for your next adventure and hike.  As you continue up the lovely country road you will see signs for Vromans Nose and an easy hike to the top to view Schoharie County’s most famous vista.  The rich lands of the Schoharie Valley stretch before you for miles and miles.

Ready for some craft beverages?  Head into the Village of Middleburgh to the Green Wolf Brewery for a fantastic selection.  This Brewery anchors the Village with its local charm and gorgeous hand-crafted drafts.

Just a short drive away in the Village of Schoharie, Wellington’s Herbs and Spices is lush with fields of organic crops and scenic views.  Browse in the specialty shop that leads to the Tea Room for delightful and delicate foods – especially enjoy their famous Island Iced Tea!

With a deep breath in the greenhouse of the Schoharie Valley Farms and let your soul rest a moment.  Their farm store has selections of fresh fruits and vegetables which are tempting for the ride home but save room for some of the most delicious locally sourced sandwiches and side dishes ever.    And what you have been waiting for all day – Cider Donuts and Carrot Cake!
